How much does windshield chip repair cost?
Chip repair starts at $25 at E.A. Glass (starting-at price, final quote depends on the damage and vehicle). A single rock chip smaller than a quarter usually takes about 30 minutes and stops the crack from spreading. Most insurance carriers waive the deductible on chip repair entirely, which means many drivers pay nothing out of pocket.
Do I need my windshield repaired or fully replaced?
Repair works when the damage is smaller than a quarter, is not in the driver's direct line of sight, and has not reached the edge of the glass. Cracks longer than about six inches, damage over a sensor, or chips at the glass edge call for a full replacement.
Does a new windshield need ADAS recalibration?
Yes, if your vehicle has lane-keep assist, adaptive cruise, automatic braking or a forward-facing camera mounted to the glass. The camera has to be re-aimed after the glass is set or the safety systems read the road incorrectly. We identify ADAS vehicles at quoting time so recalibration is part of the price, not a surprise.
Will my insurance cover a windshield replacement in Arizona?
Comprehensive coverage typically covers glass, subject to your deductible. We bill the major carriers directly and handle the claim paperwork for you. Bring your policy number and the date of loss and we will take it from there.
Do you come to me, or do I have to bring the vehicle in?
Both. We run mobile service across the Gila Valley and the High Country, home, jobsite or office, and we also work out of our shops in Thatcher and Holbrook. Mobile work needs a dry, reasonably level spot and about an hour of curing time before driving.
How long before I can drive after a windshield replacement?
Plan on about one hour of safe drive-away time with the urethane we use. Leave a window cracked for the first day, skip the automatic car wash for 48 hours, and avoid slamming doors while the adhesive sets.
What areas does E.A. Glass serve?
Southeastern Arizona from our Thatcher shop, Safford, Pima, Duncan, Willcox, Morenci and the surrounding Gila Valley, and Northern Arizona from our Holbrook shop, including Winslow, Snowflake, Show Low and Heber.
Is The Glass Shop in Holbrook the same company as E.A. Glass?
Yes. E.A. Glass acquired It's The Glass Shop in Holbrook. Same ownership, same installers' standards, same satisfaction-backed workmanship warranty, the Holbrook location simply keeps the name the High Country already knows.
Can you replace just one pane of a foggy double-pane window?
Usually yes. Fog between the panes means the seal on the insulated glass unit failed. In most cases we replace the IGU and keep your existing frame, which costs far less than a full window replacement.
Do you build custom shower enclosures and mirrors?
We measure, fabricate and install frameless and semi-frameless shower enclosures, custom mirrors, glass tabletops and shelving. Everything is cut to your opening, no stock kits forced into a space they do not fit.
Do you handle commercial storefronts and drive-thru windows?
Yes. Storefront systems, tempered and safety glazing, door hardware, drive-thru windows and emergency board-up. We are bonded and insured for commercial and government work.
How fast can you get to a broken storefront or a smashed car window?
Call the nearest shop and we will get you on the board the same day whenever the glass is in stock. For after-hours break-ins we can board up the opening first and install the permanent glass on the next business day.
